一轉眼五六年就過去了，雖有看到一點工程的感覺，但還是感覺沒什麼變化，直到我和Steve搬回台灣，我才真正看到衛武營國家藝術文化中心慢慢蓋起來，應該在我們家樓頂架設攝影機，拍攝這些年來工程的進度，把幾年縮影成幾分鐘，應該會是一個很酷的短片！哈哈～
今年（2018年）10月，衛武營國家藝術文化中心開幕了，我和媽媽特別去幫衛武營國家藝術中心還特別去入厝，就像去朋友新家一樣，好有趣哦！從現在到年底，衛武營國家藝術中心有好多特別的節目，包括雲門和許多從國外特別邀請來的表演哦！
There is a new tourist destination in Kaohsiung, and it's literally right down the street from our house. We live so closed by National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts that we can walk to the events from the house.
A little of the background history, Wei Wu Ying was a military base. It was built in the outskirt of Kaohsiung City in 1970s. As the city expends, Wei Wu Ying military base is no longer suitable in this location. In 1997, the military base started moving out of Wei Wu Ying. Then in 2003, Wei Wu Ying officially transformed the space into Metropolitan Park and designated part of the park for arts/cultural events.
National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts takes more than a decade to build. It's quite interesting to see the whole transformation. We were so happy to attend the open house in October 2018. There are quite a few interesting performances during the opening season, so make sure you purchase the tickets in advance.

當初早鳥票，我們買了便宜的位置，上來的時候，要搭電梯到3樓，我還很擔心，那是不是會離舞台很遠、看不到，但是音樂廳採用交錯的方式，以舞台為中心，有點像是花瓣的感覺，即使在3樓，視野還真的不錯。
One thing I really enjoy is there are multiple ways to access the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts. The concert hall has 360 seating design by using mostly wooden materials. Each section is spreading out from the center of the concert hall and a little overlapping each other, kind of like how the flower petals.
不但外面流線型，音樂廳裡面也很流線型。
Even though our seats are in one of the high level, you can still get a pretty good view.
這天我們看了開幕式特別節目裡面的「創世紀」，是一個音樂和視覺藝術的結合，很不一樣的方式來呈現上帝創造世界的七天，利用簡單的布幕、氣球、平板電腦和燈光的結合，就可以表現出水、植物、動物等，完美的配樂，簡單來說，這是一場很難讓人睡著的音樂會，哈哈！
We actually took this picture at the end of the show. The show was totally unexpected. They used sound and light effects to interpret the first 7 days of the creation. It was really cool they can just use balloons, fabric screens, ipad, and music to create elements of the earth, such as water, plants, animals, dirt, etc.. It had so much going on at the same time. It was definitely a concert that you wouldn't fall asleep! LOL
每一個座位都有一點包廂的感覺，與後一排完全隔離，完全不會感覺擁擠，只是坐在三樓的第一排，如果要完全看到舞台，必須要挺胸一點，不然欄杆回檔到一點。
Every section, or even every single seat, are very spacious. With the entire concert hall completely fills with people, we don't feel crowded at all. When we were sitting in our seats, it really felt like we are in the individual box area. The seats behind us are blocked off with a wooden board.
One down side is if you are sitting on the first row on the third floor like us, you will have to sit up right in order to see the whole stage. The bar handle might get in the way a little.
音樂廳裡面都是木頭，好有質感哦！每一個座位下面都有一個圓形的風口，特別問了工作人員才知道是空調風口，真的好酷，這樣也不會有冷風一直吹頭的感覺，吹了一整場冷風真的會頭痛！

I have noticed there is a circle vent under each seat. The staff member told us that it's the vent of the AC, so the cool air is coming from the bottom instead of from above. Sometimes those overhead AC vents really give me headache.
其實音樂廳，每一個小區域就有一個雙門的出入口，一進去就可以馬上找到位置，出入也不會那麼人擠人，雙門出入口的隔音效果非常好，如果晚到或是要出來使用洗手間，工作人員會讓你等到音樂結束才可以開放進出，很尊重辛苦的演出者。
There are multiple entrances for each section. If you enter in the right entrance, you would be able to find your seat in no time. There are also staffs member standby in each entrance for any assistant.
音樂廳的三樓外面有一個走道連接到公共空間，是一個另外的出入口，可以直接走到咖啡廳、餐廳、時光迴廊的地方。
Outside of the third floor of the concert hall, there is an open space. There are also another exit through the hallway.
下午的表演剛結束，工作人員沒有特別趕我們，剛好可以在這裡看一下夕陽，衛武營國家藝術中心在衛武營都會公園裡面，四周的景色好漂亮。
We just finished our afternoon show, and it's just in time for a little autumn sunset with a view of the park.
三樓的音樂廳外面也是一個簡單的公共空間，很適合小型演講或新書發表！
This open space is quite nice. It's definitely big enough for a book signing event, a lecture, or a press conference.
所有的傢俱選擇都已簡約為主，這個角度讓Steve變高了！哈哈～
With the bold design in the main architecture, all interior decorations have to be very carefully picked out. Less is more!

這天的午後，我們一家四口：媽媽、外婆、Steve和我，出門去衛武營國家藝術中心聽音樂會了。 衛武營國家藝術中心交通地點真的很方便，一下高速公路就到，而且還在高雄捷運紅線的衛武營站和建軍公車總站旁邊，除了地下室的停車場，旁邊公園附近也很多路邊停車位，停車真的比五福路的文化中心簡單太多了。
Couple days after the open house, we were here for a musical concert, The Creation. National Kaohsiung Center for Arts are right off the highway no. 1, and there are lots of parking space in the basement or street parking by the park. You can also take the public transportation here by taking subway to Wei Wu Ying station on the subway red line or taking bus to Jian Jun Station.

衛武營國家藝術文化中心整個看起來就是很流線型，幾乎看不到樓梯，以緩緩的爬坡，讓坐輪椅的可以很方便和一般人從同一個出入口進出，不用再特別找殘障坡道。（只是我穿超級高的5.5寸高跟鞋，真的比較難走一點！）
I love the agricultural design, it's so chic and sleek. You can not see any stairs. Even though the incline ramp is kind of hard to walk in my 5.5 inch heels, but it's definitely quite easy access for wide range of people, including people in wheelchairs.

The warm lighting gives a special touch to the picture.
Tips: You can bring sealable water bottles into the concert hall, but you may not drink the water inside the concert hall. Drinking water is allowed outside of the double sound proof door.
