**WangYe’s Boat Burning Festival (aka Burning the King Boat Festival)** #迎王 #燒王船 #南洲代天府 #送王 Once in a lifetime experience... and... definitely eye opening!! The entire town of people stay up and fully participate until 4 AM for this special festival every 3 years! The whole festival lasts around 8 days and ends with the grand boat burning. Every three years, five deities (aka WangYe or Royal Lords) will return and cleanse our world of evil and disease. At the end of the 8 days ritual, people send them off on brand new boat with lots of “carry-on” (aka gifts or ghost money). Once the firecrackers light up, they are on their way back and will return again in three years! We love to experience different cultural events. It’s a peek in different lifestyle and will give you a new prospective! #experiencedifferent #culturalheritage
